This is another of the special Kate Spade designed polishes for Nail Inc which came free with Glamour Magazine in the December issue. This is a tarnished gold colour. Gold is not a colour I think suits my colouring well (although both my engagement and wedding rings are gold) but as this has more of a tarnished colour I actually really like it. It is very similar to Old Park Lane from Nails Inc which I actually did not like on, but this is slightly browner than old Park Lane which is maybe why I prefer it.
This polish does have a metallic finish and so it does show every brush stroke but it was actually not to bad to apply. It was opaque in two coats. I'm glad I splashed out the whole £2 it cost me for the magazine to get this free!

Tickle My France-y by OPI
For Christmas my lovely sister bought me the Take Ten minis set from OPI which contains ten of their most popular nail polishes. I love it, all the colours are fab and ones I've been wanting to try.
Tickle My France-y is a slightly darker nude cream colour, lighter than You Don't Know Jacques. In the bottle it looks kind of boring and I did not think much of it. On the nails though I just loved it. It's just a dark nude cream, but it just suited mu colouring so well. I liked it so much I kept it on for four days which is practically unheard of for me and it did not chip or wear at all. The colour reminded me a lot of Cappuccino by Barry M but slightly less purple toned.
As I mentioned the wear time on this polish was excellent and it was so easy to apply and was opaque in two coats. If you don't think you like nude brown colours, try this polish and you will be converted.

Stunning by Revlon
Another £0.99 bargain polish from Fragrance Direct. This polish is a clear base with tons of silver micro glitter and larger pieces of hexagonal holographic glitter. I layered this polish over Steady As She Rose by OPI and I liked the effect it gave. The small holographic pieces really caught the light giving a pretty rainbow glitter effect.
The polish applied easily but my biggest gripe is that while there was an abundance of micro glitter with each brushstroke, the larger pieces are few and far between. I found myself digging around to get pieces out and on some nails I only had one or two pieces. I do like this polish though, very pretty when it catches the light.

Steady As She Rose by OPI
Another Fragrance Direct bargain polish. This is from the 2011 Pirates of the Caribbean collection and is a very pale lilac/pink cream. The colour is a beautiful neutral cream, not like anything else I have in my collection. I really like.
This polish required three coats to become opaque it applied evenly. The formula is not too thin or thick and is easy to apply with the wide angled brush. A lovely polish.

Soho Silver by Nails Inc
There is a bit of history behind this polish. It was free with Decembers Glamour magazine. As a long term subscriber I had a falling out with them over subscribers not receiving their nail polish through the post but instead having to collect it from a Nails Inc counter of which there were nine near where I live. I ended up cancelling my subscription but did have to buy a couple of extra copies of the magazine to get the two polishes I liked. At £2 a magazine it's still much cheaper than the full £11 a normal Nails Inc polish would cost.
Anyway, to the polish... This collection was designed by Kate Spade and Soho Silver is a very bright metallic silver. I do love a good metallic silver polish and I think it suits my colouring well.
However the formula on this polish is rubbish. It was streaky to apply, it took several coats to get even a half decent finish and it chipped off after less than 24 hours. I would not recommend this polish to anyone, there are way better silver metallics out there, like Essie's No Place Like Chrome for example.

Sgt Preppy by Sally Hansen
Another Fragrance Direct bargain, I love that site! This is from the Sally Hansen Complete Manicure line. The polish is a pale pink/almost lilac colour, a pastel cream. The polish would make a lovely spring polish.
The polish applied really easily and was opaque in two coats. These polishes have a wide brush which makes application really easy. I really like these Sally Hansen polishes and this is a really nice one.

Rosy Rosettes by Maybelline
I bought this polish before Christmas in Boots in their 3 for 2 offers. It is part of the Maybelline Brocades collection. This colour is a dark pink jelly base with tons of glitter particles, both micro glitter and larger particles. It is a gorgeous colour and beautiful on the nails.
With this being a jelly based formula I thought it might not become fully opaque by itself so I layered this polish over Rose Libertine by Rimmel to give it a deeper colour. It worked really well and two coats gave me full coverage glitter. It lasted three days before a huge chunk pulled off my thumbnail and I had to take it off. I used the tin foil glitter trick and it removed it easily. I really like this polish and as I do not normally like glitter polishes it takes a lot to impress me!

Rose Libertine by Rimmel
Another cheap polish from the Fragrance Direct website. This was £0.99 - total bargain! This is a 60 seconds polish and is a medium pink cream polish, a lovely muted colour. It would make a great springtime colour.
The formula is great although it needed three coats to be opaque. However as it's a fast dry polish it didn't take too long to dry especially with my Sally Hansen Insta Dri topcoat. A lovely polish for a bargain price.

Rita by Company Polish
I got this polish free with Company magazine in the autumn. The colour is a rich burgundy colour and I really like it. Such a lovely colour for this time of year and just the right tone of burgundy for my skin.
Given this is a magazine's own brand I was not convinced that it was going to be any good. I was pleasantly surprised then with the formula of this polish which was opaque in two coats, just the right consistency. The brush was quite stubby and wide but it actually applied well. I am really impressed with this polish.

Red Lights Ahead...Where? By OPI
This polish is another bargain polish from Fragrance Direct from the Holland Collection. It is a red cream, almost on the coral side. I like the colour although I would have maybe preferred it to have been a slightly redder colour and less coral.
The polish took three coats to become opaque but the formula was good to work with. These polishes last a good few days on me without chipping and I would highly recommend this if you are on the market for a red/coral cream.
